You need to look at a college admission essay as your chance of a lifetime as it is one of the only things in your admissions packet that you have any control over.
Be sure that your essay does not include any typos, spelling errors or grammar mistakes. Many scholarship committee members will simply stop reading when they come across an essay that has errors.
Be sure not to make your essay boring. You should be yourself and think of your essay as a way for the college to get to know you. Write from your heart and let them know exactly who you are. Strive to be different.
Be sure not to write too much.
Try to stay on topic and respect the reader because remember, they are reading hundreds of these essays and certainly do not appreciate the essay that rambles on and on-never getting to the point.
