An Information Systems Security Certificate is awarded to students who wish to expand their technical knowledge through the use of software tools for Information Systems Security.
Certified Information Systems Security Professional or CISSP, is an information security certification that is governed by the International Information Systems Security Certification Consortium or the ISC. The CISSP is considered a baseline for the United States National Security Agency’s ISSEP program.
The curriculum covers subjects in a wide variety of information security topics that are relevant to security personnel around the globe. This knowledge base sets a framework of security terms and principles.
In order to be considered for this program, the candidate must meet strict requirements, including but not limited to: Having at least five years of full time security experience; being truthful regarding the experience; must pass the CISSP exam with 700 points or better; and the candidate must have qualifications endorsed by a certified information systems security professional.
Once awarded the certificate, it is only valid for three years and must be renewed by re-taking the exam.
