The University Canada West college is going to give away a total of $1 million in scholarships for the upcoming 2010 school year. The school will award two scholarships valued at $25,000, two $10,000 scholarships and six valued at $5,000. In addition they will award 500 scholarships valued between $1000 and $3000 to 500 students.
In order to qualify applicants must write a 350 to 500 word essay on the topic ‘What is the value of learning in a multicultural environment like University Canada West?’.
The school wants to know why the applicant deserves the scholarship and they will also ask that the applicants tell them about any community involvement they have taken part in. You must also send in a letter from your high school guidance counselor, principal or one of your teachers, verifying that you were in the top 50% of your graduating class.
This is a wonderful opportunity for high school students to take advantage of. The price of attending college is rising each year and students need to find ways to fund their college careers. You can find an application on the school’s website.
