Employers all across the United States are having a hard time filling information technology (IT) positions because there is a shortage of qualified employees, both at the entry-level and advanced positions.
Businesses are struggling to find employees to take these IT positions and experts are trying to change the lingering perceptions regarding the dot-com bust that happened at the beginning of this decade.
Job opportunities in computer software engineering, computer support and systems administration are expected to rise quicker than what is average for all occupations.
Educators must inform students in high school about opportunities in the IT field so that they can begin working on earning a college degree in the field when they finish high school. Student clubs and other creative programs that expose students to IT jobs would also be very helpful.
