If you are in college and are considering taking double majors, you may want to consider a few things before doing so. When considering a double major, you should think about whether or not you will enjoy doing the work and if you believe that you will do well in the courses that you will be required to take.

You must be strongly committed to both majors, so be sure that you are passionate about both subjects before declaring a double major. It is also advisable that your second adjunct major should complement your first major.

You should not take a double major just because you think you will impress future employers or graduate schools. If you think you will struggle with the heavy course load over a four-year period, it is probably not in your best interest to take a double major.

You will likely be required to attend seminars and other academic events, so if you are not sure you will have to time to partake in these particulars, perhaps it is best if you do not double up.
