Many
advanced courses of study are offered in the form
of Certificate Programs. These can be obtained either
through online colleges or universities or through
campus-based programs, usually at community colleges
or local centers. The purpose of a Certificate is
to obtain a level of higher education beyond normal
high school or equivalent. A certificate is not recognized
as an Academic degree, but rather as acknowledgement
of gaining additional experience in a specified field.
You can gain as many Certificates as you desire. Some
workplaces require that you become routinely certified
in a certain field in order to move forward or remain
up to date in your current profession.
