The Bachelor’s
or Baccalaureate Degree is the most well-known of
the diplomas acquired from a 4-year institution.
If you are looking to go back and gain your
Bachelor’s Degree in an adult education course, there
are several aspects you should look into when choosing
the educational institution and the major you wish
to pursue. One important decision is whether to take
campus-based or online courses. Taking classes on
a college campus provide the most intensive program
with opportunities to meet with professors and your
peers. Online courses consist of individual work but
in a more flexible time frame. Research the costs
associated with obtaining your Bachelor’s Degree.
Remember, besides the basic tuition payments, you
will have to buy books and supplies – possibly even
a new computer or program. Different adult education
schools vary in their requirements for enrollment.
Generally for a Bachelor’s Degree, a high school diploma
or equivalent is required. Many adult education courses
are designed as continuing education programs. These
will look for a previously earned 2-year or Associate
Degree with a minimum Grade Point Average. Most importantly,
choose a major that will lead you into a career path
that is both interesting and rewarding to you.
